Transportation Coordinator

Position Summary

 Under the direction of the Health Director, provides oversight to all UFN fleet vehicles and supervision of the Medical Drivers and works in close coordination with the Patient Travel Clerk.

Accountability

The individual in this position will work under the supervision of the Ulkatcho First Nation Health Director.  This individual will be responsible to handle all vehicle information to ensure licenses, insurance and other regulations are followed and that the UFN drivers are in compliance with the UFN Medical Transportation policy as well as all standards, licensing and regulations.   

 

Hours

This position is paid on an hourly basis with wages based on experience. Working hours are part time/flexible: Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30.

Duties

  • Establish transportation schedules and delivery routes.
  • Ensure that vehicles are delivered on time and undamaged.
  • Supervise Medical Drivers and support Patient Travel to organize out-of-community rides in a standardized way.
  • Communicate well with the drivers and patient travel; to assist with coordination of activities
  • Keep a detailed record and files on the repairs, maintenance and licensing for the vehicles and the drivers.
  • Available to do community rides for elders and vulnerable persons on a regular basis.
  • Respond to client feedback or complaints and follow-up all kinds of issues in the transportation process.
  • Develop and maintain a filing system both electronically and on paper.
  • Other duties as requested

 

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

 Education & Experience

·         Provincial grade 12 education or equivalent

·         Valid BC Class 4 Drivers License

·         General computer skills including experience with Microsoft office (Outlook, Word and Excel)

·         Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector check

·         Copy of recent drivers abstract

·         Current First Aid and CPR certification

·         Good communication skills

·         Ability to work in a team
